Hospital Medical Officer Anju Jayathilake has built his early medical career at GV Health after moving from Sri Lanka in 2024.
After completing his medical training and early career overseas, Anju was looking for new opportunities and a supportive environment to continue his journey.
“GV Health had a strong reputation, and I’m really glad I made the decision to come here,” he said.
Now working across rotations including Emergency, General Medicine and Surgery, Anju values the hands-on experience and team-based approach to care.
“In a regional hospital, you get the opportunity to really be involved in patient care and make a difference,” he said.
Anju also highlighted the strong support available for junior doctors.
“The teamwork and support from colleagues across all areas has been incredible.”
For those considering a medical career, Anju said GV Health offers a great place to learn and grow.
“You can gain experience, develop your skills and be part of a team that truly supports you.”
