GV Health’s oncology department, located in the Peter Copulos Cancer and Wellness Centre, offers both inpatient and outpatient treatments for people affected by cancer.

Our oncology team embraces a patient-focused model of care. Family and friends of patients are welcome to attend their loved ones’ appointments to provide support.

Highly trained and experienced clinicians administer chemotherapy and targeted therapies, and provide supportive care screening. Scalp cooling is also available. St Vincent’s Hospital provides a visiting haematology service.

Specialist cancer care nurses are available to provide advice and information, help coordinate care, provide referrals and offer emotional support.

GV Health also provides a System and Urgent Review Clinic (SURC) service for oncology and haematology patients, to assist in the management of side effects experienced by chemotherapy or immunotherapy treatments. SURC provide advice, medical support and follow-up. This service can be accessed by patients, carers and health professionals via phone or through a review within the clinic.
