Before you come to hospital you will be given information, including a time to arrive and where you need to go.
 
Please make sure you have followed any instructions to prepare for an operation or procedure (including any limitations on eating, drinking and smoking).
 
It is important to arrive on time for your appointment.

What to bring to hospital?

If you are staying in hospital for one or more nights please bring the following items:

Clothing:

  • Loose fitting comfortable casual clothes for day
  • Pajamas and dressing gown
  • Comfortable shoes or slippers
 
Toiletries:
 
  • Such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and shaving kit
 

Personal items:

  • Medication
  • Glasses, hearing aids and walking aids
  • Books and magazines
  • Entertainment devices and headphones
  • Phone charger
 
Medical details, records and identification:
 
  • Medicare Card
  • Health insurance details
  • Health Care Card
  • Veteran’s Affairs details
  • Full/part pension number
  • WorkCare or TAC information with employer details and claim number
  • Referral letters
  • X-rays or test results
  • Pharmaceutical entitlement number
  • Telephone numbers of two family members or friends who can be contacted if necessary
 
Please note:
 
  • Do not bring valuables, such as jewellery or large amounts of money
  • Do not wear makeup or nail polish
  • Remove all body piercings
