GV Health’s COVID-19 PCR testing site – located in the Acute Respiratory Clinic (ARC) at our Graham Street Shepparton campus – has now permanently closed.

Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) are now the preferred mechanism for COVID-19 testing.

For most members of the community, PCR testing is now only available in special circumstances, via a GP referral. If you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Island, PCR testing is available via Rumbalara.

Access to free rapid antigen tests (RATs) is being expanded by the Department of Health to help with the early detection and treatment of COVID. More information about COVID-19 testing and RATs is available here.

You can also purchase RATs from supermarkets, pharmacies, other retail shops, online or through GV Libraries sites, Shepparton Ethnic Council or Shepparton Family and Financial Services.

The GV Public Health Unit has supply of RATs available for community groups. Any community group seeking to distribute RATs can email GV Health Public Health Unit at PHUadmin@gvhealth.org.au, indicating “Community Engagement RATs request” in the subject box.

Information about what to do when you test positive for COVID-19 on a Rapid Antigen Test is available here.
