Physiotherapists are experts in movement and function who assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of injuries and conditions.

Physiotherapists can help patients to recover from injury, reduce pain and stiffness and increase mobility and function. Physiotherapists are also involved in treatment and prevention of disease and disability.

Exercise Physiologists work within the physiotherapy team as exercise specialists working with patients in the management of some acute conditions and chronic disease including rehabilitation and prehabilitation for patients undergoing surgery.

Who are GV Health's physiotherapy services available to?

Physiotherapists work across a wide range of clinical areas at GV Health including, but not limited, paediatric, cardiothoracic, geriatric, neurological, orthopaedic and musculoskeletal patients. Physiotherapy outpatient clinics provide service to patients referred from GV Health inpatients and outpatient specialist clinics.

How do I access GV Health's physiotherapy services?

Access to GV Health’s physiotherapy services are via internal referral only. Patients may be referred from tertiary hospitals for ongoing management.

A range of GV Health community programs also offer physiotherapy services. Referrals are accepted via the Service Access Unit central intake. For more information, call 1800 222 582.
