In recent weeks GV Health has been working with Euroa Health to consult with the local community on the selection of a new name for the Euroa acute care campus, to take effect when the site transitions to GV Health on 1 July 2024.
We are pleased to advise that the campus will be named “Euroa Hospital”.
The naming process included a shortlisting exercise conducted by the Euroa Interim Community Reference Group, followed by community consultation on the two shortlisted options, and finally, endorsement by the GV Health Board.
The community consultation was highly successful with more than 200 survey responses received, and the majority of participants preferring “Euroa Hospital” over the alternative “Euroa Community Hospital”.
While the transition of the Euroa campus to GV Health is all about securing vital acute hospital services for the long term, we are also pleased that the name “Euroa Hospital” reflects the long history of hospital services in Euroa, and will ensure the site retains a strong local identity and connection with the community.
