“It’s a place where you’re welcomed, supported, and where your experience truly matters.”

The appeal of a country lifestyle drew Occupational Therapist Sarah Shipp to the Goulburn Valley, where she relocated with her husband in 2021.

Joining GV Health that same year, Sarah said the role—and the level of support she received—ticked all the boxes from the very start.

“Relocating to Shepparton was the smoothest and most supportive experience we’ve had,” Sarah said.

Professionally, working in a regional setting has provided Sarah with far greater variety and responsibility than her previous metropolitan roles.

“The caseload is diverse and challenging,” she said. “You’re stretched in different ways, and you really get to know your team.”

Now settled, Sarah says she and her husband feel a strong connection to both GV Health and the broader community.

“It’s a place where you’re welcomed, supported, and where your experience truly matters.”

Sarah credits the Community Connector in Shepparton as playing a key role in their transition—assisting her with employment, supporting her husband in securing work, helping them find accommodation, and guiding them as they settled into their new surroundings.

“That made a big difference in our decision to take the role,” she said.

Today, the couple are raising a young family in Shepparton, enjoying close access to childcare and healthcare, while remaining only a few hours from family in Melbourne.

“It’s a really easy lifestyle,” Sarah said.
