Our areas of Podiatrists' practice
Podiatry services at GV Health provide care across multiple inpatient wards, including medical, surgical, rehabilitation, and emergency departments. The acute podiatry team collaborates closely with the outpatient High Risk Foot Clinic to ensure a seamless transition to outpatient care and to help prevent hospital re-presentations whenever possible.
Community podiatry services at GV Health provide care to a diverse range of patients, addressing conditions such as musculoskeletal injuries, diabetes-related pathologies, and low-risk wounds. Podiatrists assess, diagnose, and manage these conditions to support patient health and mobility. Please note that GV Health community podiatry services do not offer general nail care as an ongoing service.
GV Health operates an established High Risk Foot Clinic (HRFC), utilising a multidisciplinary approach to care for subacute outpatients and dialysis patients. Podiatrists in the HRFC also support GV Health’s acute inpatient and community-based podiatry services. The HRFC plays a vital role in supporting the broader community of multidisciplinary health professionals across the region, including private podiatry practices and general practice clinics, to deliver comprehensive lower limb and foot care. Additionally, GV Health HRFC podiatrists maintain strong connections with tertiary hospitals, ensuring patients can access advanced care when needed.
