At GV Health, we understand that the transition from student to Registered Nurse is one of the most exciting and important stages of your career.

GV Health Graduate Registered Nurse Program is a 12-month program designed to support newly qualified nurses as they build confidence, strengthen clinical skills, and grow into capable and compassionate healthcare professionals in a supportive regional health environment.
Working across a variety of clinical settings, you’ll become part of a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to communities across the Goulburn Valley.
Our highly supported program offers many learning and development opportunities throughout the graduate year, including:
- Five graduate nurse study days additional to your allocated EBA study leave, with the focus of the days contextualised to the needs of the group. Topics that have been covered in the past include non-invasive ventilation, basic ECG interpretation and wound care
- Opportunity to rotate through a specialty area
- Dedicated supernumerary days for each rotation with extra supernumerary time given to those working in specialty areas
- Ongoing permanent contracts post probationary period
- Professional development opportunities, such as Postgraduate Nurse Programs
- Weekly debrief sessions along with opportunities for wellbeing and reflective practice activities.
- Access to an experienced and vast nursing education team, comprising of Clinical Area Educators, Clinical Support Nurses, and Clinical Nurse Specialists covering 7 days a week.
Specialty Areas You May Experience
As part of the Graduate Registered Nurse Program, you will rotate between three different departments to consolidate knowledge and gain experience across a range of clinical areas within GV Health. The program helps you build confidence and broaden your nursing skills in different healthcare settings.

Clinical rotations may vary depending on service availability, workforce requirements, and individual program allocations. Each placement is designed to support your professional growth and exposure to diverse patient care environments.
