In 2026, GV Health proudly celebrates 150 years of caring for our community, a legacy built on compassion, resilience and a deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of the Goulburn Valley.
From our beginnings in 1876 as the Mooroopna Hospital, to becoming Goulburn Valley Health and growing into the region’s largest health service, much has changed over the decades.
What has remained constant is our focus on delivering high-quality care for the people who call this region home.
Today, GV Health supports a community of more than 200,000 people through a dedicated workforce of over 3,000 staff and volunteers.
Across our hospitals, community services and specialist programs, we continue to provide care that is local, connected and centred on the needs of our community.
As we mark this significant milestone, we reflect on the people, stories and moments that have shaped our past, while looking ahead to a future of continued care, innovation and community connection.
Staff Reunion Ball
GV Health is turning 150 years young, and we’re honouring this incredible milestone with a spectacular Staff Reunion Ball.
All current and former staff are invited to come together for a night of connection, nostalgia and celebration.

Shepparton Hospital Tours
We invite visitors to join our special 150th anniversary GV Health Shepparton Hospital tours and see firsthand how our facilities have grown and changed over the years. Whether it has been many years since your last visit or you are seeing it for the first time, the tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the hospital as it is today. Tickets are FREE but bookings are essential to secure your place.
Dates: Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June
Historical Society of Mooroopna Tours
Visit the Historical Society of Mooroopna which preserves and showcases a collection of historical items and displays that reflect the rich history of the hospital and the surrounding district. The Mooroopna Historical Society is located at 30 Park St, Mooroopna (the site of the original hospital). No bookings are required for the Mooroopna Historical Society tours.
