150 Years of GV Health
In 2026, GV Health proudly celebrates 150 years of caring for our community, a legacy built on compassion, resilience and a deep commitment to the health and wellbeing of the Goulburn Valley.
From our beginnings in 1876 as the Mooroopna Hospital, to becoming Goulburn Valley Health and growing into the region’s largest health service, much has changed over the decades.
What has remained constant is our focus on delivering high-quality care for the people who call this region home.
Today, GV Health supports a community of more than 200,000 people through a dedicated workforce of over 3,000 staff and volunteers.
Across our hospitals, community services and specialist programs, we continue to provide care that is local, connected and centred on the needs of our community.
As we mark this significant milestone, we reflect on the people, stories and moments that have shaped our past, while looking ahead to a future of continued care, innovation and community connection.
GV Health Proud to Serve Commemorative Book
GV Health has proudly launched Proud to Serve, a beautifully crafted commemorative book. The hardcover publication captures GV Health’s rich history, through a collection of stories, photographs and significant milestones.
Proud to Serve is available for purchase for $60. Copies are available from Shepparton Hospital (Cashiers Office), the Historical Society of Mooroopna and Shepparton Heritage Centre Museum.

Staff Reunion Ball
GV Health is 150 years young, and we honoured this incredible milestone with a spectacular Staff Reunion Ball. Current and former staff came together for a night of connection, nostalgia and celebration on Saturday, 13 June.
A great night was had by all.
Hospital Tours
GV Health invited the community to take part in special tours to see first-hand how our facilities have grown. Guided tours were held at the Shepparton Hospital and the Historical Society of Mooroopna (original site of the hospital) on Saturday 13 June and Sunday 14 June.
