Wayne Foran
After 23 years in real estate—21 running his own office—Wayne Foran found the perfect fit at GV Health: managing accommodation for doctors, nurses, students and locums.
“The brief matched my skill set to a tee,” he said.
“And I love it.”
Wayne oversees about 50 properties, most within walking distance of the hospital, stand-alone homes and purpose-set rooming houses (including an 8-bed, all-ensuite site).
His day ranges from key handovers, allocation of homes, arrivals/departures, maintenance, cleaning turnarounds, monthly invoices and more.
Peak changeovers see 20+ clinicians moving out and the same number arriving on one weekend.
“It’s a lot of moving parts, but the goal’s simple: safe, comfortable, ready to go.”
He’s especially mindful of students, often living away from home for the first time.
“I ring ahead, explain what’s provided and where they’ll be,” Wayne said.
“Everything’s set, linen, towels, kitchen gear.
“Bring your favourite pillow if you like.”
Last year alone, his team supported 600+ stays.
The best feedback?
Repeat bookings and familiar names requesting the same house.
“If people leave speaking fondly of their time here and want to come back, we’ve done our job.”
