Victoria Calleja
“I proudly serve, because I care not only for our consumers, carers & families, but for the entire community.”
After more than 30 years in nursing, Registered Psychiatric Nurse and Endorsed Nurse Practitioner Victoria Calleja says she has found her most rewarding work in community mental health.
Victoria is the Manager of GV Health’s Adult Community Mental Health teams across Shepparton and Seymour, leading a dedicated group of clinicians who support people to live well, stay connected and access mental health care when they need it most.
“I’ve worked in metro, regional and private settings across my career, but coming back to GV Health just felt right,” Victoria said.
“The team I work with truly ‘fills my cup’ every day.
“They role model GV Health’s values and live them in every interaction with consumers, families and carers.”
Victoria doesn’t live in Shepparton and travels to get to work each day, but says the team and the meaningful work make it more than worthwhile.
At GV Health, the Adult Community Mental Health team provides compassionate, recovery-focused care.
Victoria is proud to help create a service where people feel safe, respected and supported through every step of their mental health journey.
“As a mental health service, we proudly serve our community,” she said.
“I’m so proud to be part of that.”
Reflecting on her career, Victoria returns to a favourite and classic quote from Mark Twain: “Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”
For her, working at GV Health has become exactly that.
