The RAHT team members work autonomously, undertake a varied workload and make a true difference to our client’s independence and well-being.

The Rural Allied Health Team (RAH) has over 20 staff members and provides an opportunity to work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including Dietetics, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Social Work and Speech Pathology services, supported by Allied Health Assistants.

Allied health assistants are integral members of our allied health teams, working alongside allied health professionals such as physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, exercise physiologists, and dietitians. Qualified allied health assistants are supported to further develop their skills and competencies in a range of clinical areas.

We also offer opportunities for allied health professional students to work in casual roles, gaining exposure and experience in a public health setting whilst undertaking their degree. In addition, GV Health offers a GAP year program for school leavers to introduce them to allied health careers.

Our areas of Allied Health Assistant practice

Allied health assistants may work across various inpatient wards, including surgical, medical, intensive care, and the Mary Coram (rehabilitation) ward.

GV Health offers a variety of allied health assistant roles across community settings enabling staff to gain a wealth of experience and knowledge. Allied health assistants have the opportunity to work at GV Health’s Graham Street, Corio and Knight Street campuses.
