Mori Fadakaran
For Occupational Therapist Mori Fadakaran, moving to Shepparton wasn’t just a career step, it was a life-changing decision.
Originally from Iran, Mori spent a decade working in hospitals, including senior OT roles focused on traumatic brain and spinal cord injury.
After relocating to Australia two years ago, he spent a year in Melbourne before joining GV Health.
“I was new to the country and open to trying a different city,” he said.
“When I came to Shepparton, I didn’t know what to expect, but I’ve never looked back.”
Mori said life in Shepparton quickly exceeded expectations.
“The house, the neighbourhood, the community, it’s calmer, friendlier and more affordable,” he said.
“It fits exactly what I wanted.”
Just six months into his role, Mori faced a personal health challenge: a brain tumour diagnosis.
“The support I received from colleagues and the wider community was overwhelming,” he said.
“I felt looked after, like I was part of a family.”
Now fully recovered, Mori calls Shepparton home.
“I’m not just living here — I belong here,” he said.
“I’m part of this community, and I’m grateful every day.”
