Lauren Bull – Food Service Assistant
“I might not be saving lives, but I can help make someone’s day better,” Lauren said, “Seeing someone smile when you bring their meal, those little moments mean a lot.”
When Lauren Bull joined GV Health as a Food Service Assistant, she was looking for a role where she could stay busy, help others and be part of a fast-paced team.
Each morning, Lauren’s day starts early, collecting dishes from wards, restocking the staff cafeteria and assisting with food preparation.
“I like being useful and working in busy environments,” Lauren said.
“I enjoy seeing a big workload slowly get done.
“It’s really satisfying.”
Lauren says she loves being on the move, whether she’s running trolleys or helping in the kitchen, and values the strong team culture.
“The people here are the friendliest group I’ve ever worked with,” she said.
“You always know you’re going to have a pleasant conversation, and everyone appreciates each other.”
While her role isn’t clinical, Lauren knows it still matters.
“I might not be saving lives, but I can help make someone’s day better,” she said.
“Seeing someone smile when you bring their meal, those little moments mean a lot.”
Lauren says she’s felt proud to work at GV Health from day one.
She also values that the kitchen team gives people a chance, welcoming staff with limited experience and supporting them to learn, grow and build confidence on the job.
