Hayley Napier Exercise Physiologist

“I love building rapport and helping people understand that through movement and exercise, they can achieve more than they think."

Hayley Napier (2)

When Hayley Napier began her career as an Exercise Physiologist, she knew she wanted to work in a setting where she could build strong connections with patients and make a real difference to their lives.

After growing up in Numurkah and completing her studies in Bendigo, Hayley undertook a student placement at GV Health and immediately saw herself building a future in the region.

“I’ve always enjoyed living locally, and when I did my placement here, I could really picture myself working here,” she said.

Hayley joined GV Health eight years ago, starting in the Mary Coram Unit rehabilitation team before helping expand the Exercise Physiology role into the outpatient setting.

“Over time, the scope of our work has grown a lot,” she said.

“Now we focus on musculoskeletal care, post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation and helping people manage conditions like osteoarthritis.”

For Hayley, the most rewarding part of her job is helping patients realise what they are capable of.

“I love building rapport and helping people understand that through movement and exercise, they can achieve more than they think,” she said.

She also values the supportive team environment at GV Health.

“The flexibility and support, especially through pregnancy and returning to work, has been amazing.

“We work with a great group of people, and that makes all the difference.”
