The Goulburn Valley Alcohol and Drug Service (GVADS) offers alcohol and drug treatment to adults in the Goulburn Valley region.
This is a free service.
GVADS has linkages and partnerships with many other regional services and can facilitate referrals to
these services as necessary.
There are a variety treatment streams available.
Clients referred to GVADS are assessed to identify their needs and treatment goals. GVADS looks to consider the whole person and encourages the participant’s family and significant others to engage in the treatment journey. An individual treatment plan is developed with the client to guide their own treatment or recovery goals.
Face-to-face, online and telephone counselling is available to support positive behaviour change and recovery in people with evidence-based therapeutic individual, group and family interventions.
Non-Residential Withdrawal Service
A non-residential withdrawal service is available for low risk clients with sufficient stability and support in their lives to safely undertake a withdrawal episode at home.
Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation
A 10-week intensive non-residential rehabilitation group program is available for anyone wishing to address their substance use. The program is based on a recovery model of care and seeks to develop life skills including communication, coping strategies and relapse prevention.
