Rushworth’s new one-stop shop for acute, aged care, primary care and community health services is now operational as the fully-integrated, state-of-the-art facility enters a new era as Waranga Health.
The new building also includes a new office, administration, reception, storage, consulting and activity areas, we well as a new dining room and laundry facilities. There is even a new outdoor dining area with in-built BBQs which will allow residents and their families to enjoy alfresco dining.
The architect has integrated the new with the old, reflecting the environment by using lots of wood and utilising aspects of the original beautiful gardens and re-landscaping around the new building using some of the saved plants to create beautiful outdoor spaces.
The front entrance to Waranga Health is now off the main street and much easier to locate, with a new drop-off zone with a drive through driveway to enable easy patient transport.
Staff who once worked up at the Waranga Memorial Hospital have now relocated to the new facility and have been working tirelessly to become familiar with working in their new space. They have also been ensuring that the move has had minimal impact on any of the patients and residents, who are all loving their new environment.
There is a real buzz around the new facility as everyone gets used to their new surroundings. Well done to everyone involved in what has proven to be a successful project and a wonderful new healthcare facility for the entire community.
