GV Health Pathology is your local public provider of pathology services. We offer a large range of testing in our Shepparton and Echuca Laboratories, which enables faster test results back to your doctor.

Our Pathology collection and nursing staff take blood specimens from inpatients at Goulburn Valley Health and Shepparton Private Hospital, and also offer outpatient collections at 11 sites throughout the region.

Pathology resources for health professionals

Appointments

Generally, appointments are not required for pathology collections. The exceptions to this include Glucose Tolerance Test (GTT), Mantoux Test, Refugee testing, Supervised Urine Drug Screens and some DNA and chromosome testing.

You will be advised of your appointment time and location at the time of booking.

Prior to attending pathology collections, please ensure you have done the following:

• Fasted from 10pm the night before if requested by your doctor. Fasting must be for at least 10 hours but must not exceed 14 hours prior to collection of samples. {Fasting means nothing to eat, drink or smoke. Plain water allowed.)
• Brought in the Pathology Referral Request
• Brought in your Medicare card
