Respite

Respite care is a form of support for carers of people requiring assistance on a day-to-day basis. It provides an opportunity for carers to have a break from their caring role. We recognise the need to afford carers the opportunity to relax and recharge their own batteries.

GV Health provides respite services at Waranga Aged Care Hostel and the National Respite for Carers Program.

More information about respite is also available on the myagedcare website

Residential Respite Care
Enquiries about residential respite care can be made at the Waranga Aged Care Hostel. Respite care is provided by the Hostel, subject to availability.

Respite Care at Waranga Aged Care Hostel is available for people who have been assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Service and are eligible for residential respite care.

Respite charges are based on the Commonwealth Government prescribed fee.

National Respite For Carers Program
GV Health Community Interlink is funded to deliver the National Respite for Carers Program which aims to enhance the quality of life of older people and their carers.
Community Interlink can offer advice and support on respite options.
