Elective Admissions

Elective Admissions includes placing patients onto the elective waiting list, booking procedures, arranging pre-admission assessment and education, and admitting patients on the day of their procedure.

Patients being placed onto the elective waiting list must meet the requirements of the Department of Health Elective Surgery Access Policy.

Patients will receive written or verbal notification when they are placed onto the waiting list and when the booking is made. An urgency category is given by the doctor requesting the procedure. Sometimes there may be delays in the booking due to more urgent cases being requested by the doctor.

Procedures may be completed by another doctor other than the requesting doctor, and the procedure may also be completed at another facility as arranged by Goulburn Valley Health, however this will be discussed with you.

Elective admissions is located at the Graham Street, Shepparton Campus in the Hub.
