The $169 million redevelopment of Shepparton’s Goulburn Valley Health, funded by the Victorian State Government, is now underway with much-needed building works about to begin on the hospital’s Emergency Department.
This is a very exciting time for GV Health, the emergency team and the community. The redevelopment will result in an emergency department more than twice the size of the existing facility.
As a result of these works, as of Thursday, March 22, 2018 a number of public car parks in the front of the Emergency Department and the Peter Copulos Cancer and Wellness Centre will not be available until construction is complete.
While the hospital is still running at its full capacity during the redevelopment we are advising everyone in the community that car parking will be limited during this time and access to the Peter Copulos Cancer and Wellness Centre and to the Specialist Consulting Suites will change as the project continues to develop. You will still be able to access these areas at all times and a GV Health volunteer will be available to assist you when finding your way around the hospital site.
Some things you can do to ensure you are able to attend your appointments:
- Leave 15 minutes early to allow time to find a car park.
- Arrange for someone to drive you and pick you up.
- Park nearby but please be mindful of our neighbours and pay attention to parking signs and time restrictions.
GV Health appreciates your patience and understanding during what is an exciting time for our community.
