The Mary Coram Unit is a 44 bed combined inpatient Rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation and Management (GEM) Unit at GV Health Shepparton Campus.
The Unit is staffed by full-time Geriatricians and Rehabilitation Consultants.
The Geriatricians are Dr Arup Bhattacharya and Dr Janith De Silva, and
The Rehabilitation Consultants are Dr Christopher Wijesingha and Dr Greg Dalley.
The multidisciplinary team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech pathologists, Dieticians and Social Workers.
The Unit specialises in all types of rehabilitation and Geriatric Evaluation Management (GEM) conditions and is recognised as the preferred specialist provider for the following conditions for patients in the Goulburn Valley and Hume Regions
• Stroke / Neuro Rehabilitation
• Parkinson’s Disease
• Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
• Delirium and Dementia Care
• Falls (particularly falls of the elderly)
• Chronic Pain Management

The Mary Coram Unit accepts referrals from within GV Health and external referral sources including interstate and Metropolitan Victorian hospitals.
Referrals to the Unit are accepted from Health Professionals only. These include but are not limited to General Practitioners (GPs), Community Health Service providers such as the Aged Care Assessment Service (ACAS), The Movement Disorder Nurse, and the GV Health Community Rehabilitation Centre amongst others.

Note that all fax referrals require you to phone (03) 5832 3670 to confirm that your referral has been received.
Individuals will be contacted and triaged before being placed on a waiting list for admission.
