GV Health Ethics & Research

The Goulburn Valley Health Ethics and Research committee acts as a committee of review for research conducted at Goulburn Valley Health. The Committee's primary role is to protect the welfare and rights of participants in research. As part of this, it is the responsibility of the Ethics and Research Committee to review new research proposals, monitor existing research conducted at the group and maintain a register of all research projects. The Committee operates in accordance with the National Health and Medical Research Council National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Research Involving Humans

The committee will accept applications for all external applications or Multisite Research Projects on the National Ethics Application Form (NEAF). The NEAF Application Form can be accessed by clicking on the following link https://www.ethicsform.org/au/SignIn.aspx

The DHS Common Application Form maybe used for all internal GV Health site specific Research Projects or single site project which are only to be carried out at GV Health. Please contact Clinical Services for clarification prior to submitting this form. The DHS Common Application Form can be accessed by clicking on the following link www.health.vic.gov.au/ethics

The Committee meets on the last Wednesday of every second month, except for the December meeting which meets on the first Wednesday in the month. An original signed copy of the application plus 15 photocopies must be received two weeks prior to the meeting. No late applications will be considered.

    • Wednesday 27 April 2011
    • Wednesday 29 June 2011
    • Wednesday 31 August 2011
    • Wednesday 26 October 2011
    • Wednesday 7 December 2011 

* Please note that the committee may request a research governance fee for new project applications, to be determined by the committee upon review of the project application, particularly if the application is in receipt of funding
